Archives for July 2013
Reasons why I have been away from the computer recently:
1 / Cody & I purchased new bikes from Bicycle Warehouse in Pacific Beach last weekend. Our neighborhood is VERY bike friendly and all of the local businesses/restaurants are a short bike ride (or walk) away!
2 / Inviting people over and celebrating our new place!
3 / Wedding planning. I have really enjoyed wedding planning so far and I am excited to start all of the small decor details. It’s getting closer and closer… eeek! October!
4 / Speaking of wedding… my bachelorette party is this weekend in Austin, TX! I AM SOOO EXCITED to see some of my best friends and celebrate with them! The only plan I am certain of is my friend Natalie is picking me up from the airport. Other than that, it’s all been kept secret from me! Which makes me a little nervous, knowing my crazy persian best friend. 😉
Crazy scale, intense color and simple art made me fall head over heels for these dining rooms. I have seen many bland ones in my day let me tell ya (I sound as if I am 55+ years old…haha). But the dining room, to me, is one of the easiest rooms to be bold and out of the box. This is where you have dinner with your loved ones, drink too many cocktails and host dinner parties. Just WOW your guests and do the unexpected…. okayyy?!
I mean that green chair…. really? I am in love.
There’s something so great about this dining room and it’s not the light fixture because I know that could’ve been a little less ornate and bigger. Those chairs make the room – Let’s be real.
Playing with scale is THE BEST. I don’t care – this room rocks and I want that swan like..now! But the light fixture obviously took the show and I am TOTALLY okay with it. I almost said YOLO after that sentence and then slapped my hand because I think I have used that phrase twice in my life and thought now would be the right time to say it again? Sure. YOLO folks – decorate like crazy and make your space BOLD and different.
So as you all know Cody and I have moved into a new place…A HOUSE. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be in a house and not our apartment anymore. It took some blood, sweat & tears to find our place (San Diego has a VERY competitive market…it’s absolutely crazy) and we have been nonstop for the past 2 weeks. The good news is, I know we are paying for the palm trees outside our doors and the beach down the street…oh and how about the PERFECT weather?? This way of life is incomparable.
Anyway, it’s early in the morning and I am finally devoting some time to my little space on the web. We are hard at work painting, hanging and installing…& can’t wait to show you guys what we’ve been up to! But for now, here are a few instagrams I snagged of our in-progress home.
Happy Monday to you all! (ps. sorry if you already follow me on instagram – this is old news).
