Archives for February 2015
Bright colors and sunshine have been on my mind this week. I have been super jealous of everyone that is in Palm Springs for Modernism Week because it’s pretty much my favorite place on earth and I would love to get a tour of some of the estates and gardens. And….I just need the sun and to feel sweat again. haha! Okay, back to the post. Here’s a round-up of some bright pillows to get you excited for Spring! shop the pillows: one // two // three // four // five // six
Typically when I begin a new design project, I create a pinterest board to gather inspirational images to determine the design direction. I find it’s interactive for clients and is extremely helpful to see what catches their eye. When I was perusing pinterest this weekend, I was overwhelmed with how many black and white interiors that kept popping up. Although I tend to bring color into each space I design, the photos below make me giddy about the idea of designing a room sans color. The bold contrast makes the elements in black act as art (and white in the one photo with black walls) and the simplicity is refreshing. A repeating detail I notice that most of these rooms have are plants – which bring the space to life! Which one is your favorite?

Goodness, taking a break is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you all for your patience with me this week and the kind words on my instagram. We have yet another snow storm in store for us this weekend and although I am more than ready for Spring, I am excited to have the weekend to prepare some posts!
I am also looking forward to getting some projects photographed this month to share with you all! It’s been far too long.
Also, I think it’s about time to share some updates on how our studio is coming along! To be continued 🙂
Happy Love Weekend, Y’all!
Goodness, last week absolutely flew by. Between not feeling well for a couple of days, the blizzard and design projects….I found myself working from home the entire week and having a difficult time catching up. I was feeling really off last week – perhaps the cold weather is getting to me or I just need to find some motivation. It was just a weird week.
Do you ever have weeks like that? Where you just feel off and uninspired for no particular reason?
Since I work for myself, I often feel guilty if I have to take a couple of days to get back in the groove of things or because I am sick. Let’s be honest, work won’t just magically do itself.
I will be back in action in a couple of days, but I appreciate you all in my little mental break! 🙂
