30 Days of Boston via OhidesignblogI landed in Boston late last night and was greeted by Cody at our hotel in West End (our new neighborhood). I began thinking about how different our lives are going to be living right in the middle of downtown versus our (kind of) suburban lifestyle we had in San Diego. That’s when I thought of an idea that could be fun and rather humorous – I am calling it “30 Days of Boston” – where I will create a post once a day for 30 days about either a new learning experience, something beautiful I found, or an embarrassing moment.

So today will be…

30 DAYS OF BOSTON / OHIDESIGN BLOG / DAY ONE

Today we attempted to teach Bella the art of going potty on the concrete… it was not successful and we found a little patch of trees a couple streets over with mulch. Golden! During our walk I noticed how cold she was (hence her shaking…I know, I’m a bad mom). So I am going to have to figure out where in the world I can find a pet store and go buy her some clothes. I mean, do people dress their dogs up here in jackets and booties?? I have yet to see one. I don’t care, I’m going to be that girl with the dog with a vest on and little rain boots. Judge me. 🙂

fun post idea!
when i moved to SF from orange county, my lil pup did know where to go potty either. and now that we’re back down here, she goes pretty much everywhere! they get used to it and find their fave lil spot. and they get used to the weather too. frankie loved running around in the rain in SF but down here she won’t even go outside when it’s raining!

That is TOO funny! I’m glad your pup got used to it! I think ours is getting there too – we found a good route from our apartment and discovered a tiny dog run in the back of our building! 🙂

I used to live in Beacon Hill (several years ago), and there was a really cute pet store on Charles Street–maybe called Four Preppy Paws? Something like that. And when I lived there, most of the stores on Charles Street had water out on the sidewalk for dogs in the summer, and the liquor store had dog treats for when you checked out. Hopefully they’re still as dog friendly! Enjoy Boston!

That’s fantastic, thanks Erica! Also great to hear you lived in the area – how did you like it? We will have to check out Four Preppy Paws for sure 🙂 Cheers!

Oh how fun! (but yes, challenging for the pup!) I miss my Boston and will live vicariously through you these next 30 days 🙂 There is a Petco over the bridge in East Cambridge.. not really “beantown charming” but it will have some warm duds! Or I like this place the best.. “The Fish & Bone” we always swing by when we are strolling Newbury! http://blog.thefishandbone.com/about/#.Uo-a82RAQvM

Oh great! Thank you for letting me know the Petco location – I was curious if we were even close to one. The Fish & Bone looks soo cute – we might have to cruise by there! Thank you so much!

Haha! I knew that would be the first post 😉 Poor little Bella and her little tiny body. At least she’ll be stylin’ and warm.

Haha! I know – she has very little fur too. Poor thing! At least we will get her all jazzed up soon. miss you lady.

Definitely be sure to post a pic of Bella in her new duds. I <3 doggies in jackets!

You got it!
