Wow, 2015. You brought change and LOTS of it. Good change that is.

January – It all started right after my birthday weekend in NYC, when I found out I was pregnant. It was quite the surprise to begin the new year…the worst part was feeling sick 24/7 and being stuck inside due to the biggest snow storm of Boston history. The thought of having a baby at this point in my life was extremely daunting, but overall, I was SO excited to begin this new chapter with my husband. He was over the moon from the very beginning might I add. 🙂 Oh, and a special thing about our due date: it fell on my late mother’s birthday. There was something so incredibly powerful about the moment I saw Sept. 21st pop up on my computer when I entered the info to find out our due date.

February – lots of morning sickness. So much so that I was barely getting work done and needed to just rest and listen to my body. Keeping a secret like this from my clients and friends was the hardest thing in the world. I hate keeping secrets!! Since finding out I was pregnant, Cody and I began searching for a home more (we had been on and off for a few months). In case anyone was wondering, morning sickness while house hunting is not ideal.
Joyelle_150303_001-600x400 Joyelle_150303_0371-3546-1-600x400March – Somehow I gathered my strength and was able to style one of my projects for a photoshoot with Joyelle West! I was feeling on and off sick, but able to get back to work…with middle of the day naps. Pregnancy was no joke. We were still on the hunt for a new home!Evernote-Camera-Roll-20150406-132235-600x443-111168771_825432460839328_4267714558197296658_n-600x600BDMGlr3kTxY9tpPiGbWtZVpekq2Z55UD_-JY473i370-600x400U4eAivOMp40FpeJxM_XPoPruzbdg69JoteboL2J_CKw-600x400April – This was a big month. I was beginning to feel better and the weather was getting better after quite the crazy winter. We also find out we were having a GIRL!

Recap: My project was featured in The Boston Globe.

Our offer was accepted on a house right outside of downtown Boston (post here).

We made our little but BIG announcement thanks to the lovely Nicole Baas Photography.IMG_4861-600x600

May – Feeling MUCH better and loving the 2nd trimester! I was able to get a lot done project-wise. Then I was able to attend a Gilded Getaway to Newport, RI with some fantastic ladies thanks to The Gilded Hotel (Lark Hotels).June – this month was all about getting ready to move into our new home. Lots of preparation, budgeting, and finishing up projects so I could take a little time off. This South End project was very close to being photographed.IMG_4159 ournewhouse-entry

July – we closed on our home!! FINALLY! Then we moved in on July 15th. There was a lot to be done before baby Klein arrives. We painted, removed lighting, added lighting, patched walls, etc. I still have some before + afters to show off in the new year.IMG_6609-600x600Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetnursery-design-via-ohidesignblog-600x450Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

August – one month before out little one arrives. We took a day trip to Provincetown thanks to our friends over at Boston Harbor Cruises. We finished designing Evie’s nursery and began installing it! One of my projects was featured on Better Homes & Gardens. I was also very spoiled by some friends with a baby shower in Oklahoma as well as in Boston. southendproject-livingroom2IMG_4328_1-600x462Processed with VSCOcam with c3 presetIMG_4389klein-1003-600x900September – The South End project was complete and photographed by Joyelle West! It was also featured on House Beautiful! The best part of September was knowing our little girl that I had grown to love so much already…was going to make her appearance! We finished the nursery just in time to get it photographed. Then… on September 29th at 5:02pm… our Evelyn June Klein was welcomed into the world. Complete happiness overload!

Man, I’m not sure that 2016 will be able to live up to all of the excitement of 2015. It sure was a great year not only for our family, but for my interior design career! I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!!!
