Nikki Rappaport is passionate about so many things and she packs every day full with trying to do them all. She writes about baking, DC dining, style, twenty-something life, and home design on her lovely blog, Cupcakes for Breakfast. Nikki is the Brand Strategist at Cava Mezze Grill, a DC-born fast-casual restaurant group, where she oversees experiential and digital marketing. Nikki also dabbles in wedding planning, consulting on creating personal brands, and making the perfect chocolate frosting.
What room is your favorite in your home and why?
My dining/library nook is my favorite space in my home because it’s so multipurpose. I live in a 500 sq ft studio, so it’s important for me to maximize my space. This is where I eat, work, do cooking prep, entertain, where cakes and cookies cool, and I store everything from mail to all my magazines.
What is this space utilized for and how much time do you spend here?
Well I definitely spend more time eating in front of my TV, but every so often I sit at the table like an adult and have a real meal. It’s a nice change of pace. Otherwise, you’ll find me there on my laptop or frosting a cake.
If you could change one thing about your space, what would it be and why?
To keep it as clean as it looks in these photos! ha. Because it’s my multipurpose space, it’s often covered in mail, hats and gloves, and work.
