Alright, so we are doing something different this Friday since I have been bedridden the past two days with a terrible cold. The amount of tissues and cough syrup and lemon water that are surrounding my nightstand as I write this is a little unnerving. But anyway, back to the post!

Lately, a couple of my clients have been in the transition from one home to another and are in need of furniture (in addition to my design plans)…like yesterday. I actually enjoy a good fast-paced project here and there so I have been welcoming these projects with open arms. The only issue is – it’s difficult to customize your furniture (i.e.: fabrics) unless you want to wait a good 6-12 weeks if not longer. Although I understand the necessity for the lead time, sometimes you want the ability to customize a piece without waiting too long.

I recently became one of Wayfair’s Homemakers and was introduced to their new Custom Upholstery furniture collections, where I have become very impressed the classic options, price points and (again) lead time. Below are a few of my favorite sofas + chairs and then you will find my favorite fabrics. Enjoy!wayfair-custom-upholstery-via-ohidesignblog 1 . Brooke Sofa – I love the curved lines of the arms and the simple buttons on the back. But, I would probably remove the two toss pillows. 🙂

2 . Josephine Sofa – a take on the classic Chesterfield. It’s gorgeous rounded arms and nailhead detailing is perfection.

3 . Paige Sofa – it’s timeless and very elegant.

*If you are interested in a three-cushion option, I love the Caroline.

1 . Harper Chair – first of all, how cute is the name? I am personally a huge fan of the mid-century modern style and this one in a colored fabric could bring a little life to any room.

2 . Paige Chair – I obviously like the Paige 🙂

3 . Katherine Slipper Chair – I love a good slipper chair and this one looks really cozy and I love the wheels on the front legs.

4 . Delphine Arm Chair – Formal in the style and I love the spindle legs!

**Keep in mind you can upholster the sofas and chairs above in 18 different fabrics!

Interior Designers or anyone doing a lot of furniture ordering: If you are like me, you will order fabric swatches from various retailers or vendors and then by the time they arrive (it normally takes 7-10 business days), you have taken the scheme a whole different direction and forgot why you ordered them in the first place. I have learned my lesson and now I leave a sticky note on my inspiration board for which client and what piece each fabric should be in transit. 🙂 Anyway, I ordered fabric swatches and literally received them in 3 days – now this might vary depending on where you live…but the turn around time made quite the impression on this interior designer!

I wanted to share my 6 of my favorite fabrics:

Hi, can you tell me what color and material the Paige Sofa is in the picture? At first I thought it was the Bull Natural, but looks a little darker with a different material. Thanks!

Hi Vanessa,

I believe I took this image from the first one that pops up on when you pull up the Paige on their website. I would order the swatches as it may just be a color the used for the image of the sofa and not a representation of any of the fabric options.

I hope this helps 🙂
