While this post is not sponsored by Nespresso, I do want to note that they have gifted me new pods to try in the past, as well as this machine for my office last year. But they are not paying me to write this post, I simply love them and would be thrilled if they wanted to partner with us!
Coffee. I love it, I need it, I depend on it. More than ever these long days. And while I don’t claim to be any sort of coffee connoisseur, I could discuss our Nespresso all day, every day.
We are OBSESSED with our Nespresso Machine and since I often share my morning cup of coffee on Instagram, I get a lot of questions about our machine and my daily routine. I’m excited to fill you all in on the details and discuss further! Pour yourself a cup of delicious coffee and let’s dive in!
Q: Which Nespresso Machine do you have?
A: We have the DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima machine. We’ve had it for a few years and this exact model is no longer available, but the closest one to this version is the De’Longhi Lattissima Touch Espresso Machine.
If I were to purchase one today, it would be the Lattissima One by Delonghi (in chic Silky White!). It’s more compact and I love the design. Also, SUCH a good price! Might be adding to my wishlist sooner rather than later. 😉
Q: I worry about getting a machine with pods; isn’t it so wasteful?!
A: Great question! This is a concern that came up when I was first researching Nespresso machines because I’m really not a fan of coffee pods you can’t recycle. It’s something that doesn’t mesh with my approach and interest in being less wasteful, and overall more respectful to the environment (aka trying not to fill up those landfills carelessly and unnecessarily).
What I love about Nespresso is they are committed to sustainability. They recycle capsules FOR YOU at their recycle center; all you have to do is send them the used pods via a free recycling bag, or you can simply drop them off at a Nespresso location. The coffee grounds are recycled into green energy or nutrient-rich garden compost. The aluminum capsule is melted and recycled to make more pods or to create products like bikes and pens. With this information at hand, I feel so much better about using pods daily.
We go the route of requesting a free recycling bag whenever we order our pods and just leave that bag under our sink; it’s super easy to just drop the used pods into. The bag comes with a prepaid label so all we have to do is give it to UPS and off it goes!

Q: What are your favorite pods from Nespresso?
A: Genova Livanto and Nicaragua are two of my favorites!
Q: What did you use for coffee before your Nespresso? What made you switch?
We used to have a regular coffee machine. We made the switch when we first had Evie, and I really wanted to be able to have a latte in our home (ultimate postpartum treat!). It was a gift from Cody 🙂 and as I like to say, it’s a gift that keeps on giving daily!
Q: Where/How do you order your pods?
A: We order through Nespresso’s website! It’s really easy and typically the delivery time is really fast – the order arrives in about two days!
*Orders are currently taking a bit longer currently due to COVID-19.
Q: What does Cody like coffee-wise?
A: Cody likes a bold cup of black coffee (no milk and no creamer). Note: I try to be more like Cody and skip the extras but ugh, I can’t! I either add creamer or I will make a latte/cappuccino with whole milk and sometimes some raw sugar.
Cody’s favorite pods are the Firenze Arpeggio, Roma, Ristretto Italiano, Venezia (this one is next on my list to personally try), and Palermo Kazaar.
Q: Is it really worth the extra expense?
A: In my opinion, YES 1000x! Here’s how I think about it: if you use something every single day, you should invest in it and make sure you LOVE it. I consider coffee to be in the same realm as bedding, your mattress, soap, and other items, items that can make your day dependably better when you use ones you really love on a regular, routine basis. I look forward to my first cup of coffee every morning; it provides me so much joy. It’s the little things (especially these days I’m finding). If you are a coffee drinker and like an occasional espresso, latte, or cappuccino, I cannot recommend this machine and brand enough.
Q: Do you have any other coffee appliances?
A: We have a French press but we rarely use it. I do like having the option though for when we have guests who may prefer it.
Q: Can you use the machine for anything additional?
A: You can use the milk frother for hot cocoa for the kiddos 🙂 Fluffy milk is automatically better!
