One of my goals at the beginning of 2020 was to read more books, I was determined to do so! I’ve always enjoyed reading but it’s often been pushed to the side in lieu of work, kiddos, tv, sleep… I know I’m not alone in this struggle! I was excited to dive back into the world of reading in 2020, as a personal self-care treat to myself, and I’m SO glad I did! It felt like a huge accomplishment when I finished the last page of each book listed below. I often fall asleep when reading though… anyone else?
I joined the Book of the Month club earlier in the year and it’s been amazing, I’ve really enjoyed it! It’s been a wonderful way to be introduced to fantastic new books. If you’re interested in trying it out, here’s an invite code to get started!
I also just signed up for Goodreads because I needed a way to keep track of what I’ve read, and what I want to read! As a note, I have linked the books below to Amazon, as Amazon accepts my affiliate links and if you make a purchase, I receive a small credit which helps support my small business/blog. That said, I also believe in supporting small bookstores in the US and so I am signing up for Bookshop’s affiliate network for future book blog posts/shares 🙂
Here’s the books I devoured in 2020 – and the ones I hope to read in 2021! Please share the beauties on your list, I’d love to hear! Cheers to more reading!
In A Holidaze
by Christina Lauren
I loved this book! It was an easy read, I think I finished it in only two days. I rarely read love stories but this was equally as funny as it was romantic.
All The Light We Cannot See
by Anthony Doerr
Beautifully written – highly recommend this one! I originally started it back in 2017 and I’m so glad I picked it up again.
Where The Crawdads Sing
by Delia Owens
I LOVED this book! It’s a must-read and I’m still in SHOCK over the ending! If you haven’t read this one, grab it now!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Possibly one of my favorite books EVER. I cried and laughed throughout this one and truly cannot recommend it enough! I loved this author’s writing style and need to check out other books written by her.
The Woman in the Window
by A.J. Finn
I couldn’t put this one down! I can’t wait to watch the movie – I gotta lookup when it comes out!
by Herman Koch
This one had me intrigued by the first page, but then it lost my attention for a little bit. I did end up really liking it overall though! A great thriller!
by Glennon Doyle
TIP: Have a pen nearby so you can underline and take notes in the margins while reading this one! It was filled with lots of goodness and I am hoping to reread it this year.
Tell Me Everything
by Cambria Brockman
Okay, so I lied, I actually read this one in 2019. But I LOVED it and wanted to make sure I shared it here! I remember reading it at a bar with champagne by myself and then realizing I was there for three hours. Cambria is also a wonderful human – can’t wait for her next book to come out!
Leave The World Behind
by Rumaan Alam
This one was a page turner throughout, but I didn’t love the ending. That said, I would definitely read another book from this author! I would be curious if you have read this and what your takeaways were.
The Last House Guest
I’m pretty sure I stayed up until 2am reading this book to finish it, which is rare for me! I loved this mystery book – there were a few plot twists I was not expecting.
Such a Fun Age
by Kiley Reid
A book about privilege in America, so relevant; it is a must-read!
