Now that Thanksgiving has (sadly) passed, I am looking forward to decorating for Christmas! There’s something about a brightly lit tree, garland draping across our console, stockings hung and a festive candle that makes me want to sip hot cocoa and cuddle up with a book. Anyone else?
Anyway, since our car is extra small and to fit a tree we wouldn’t be able to take Evie with us, we decided to get ours shipped this year. Did you know you can have a real tree shipped? I didn’t either. We had the pleasure of collaborating with Green Valley Christmas Trees as they kindly sent us one of their Fraser Firs. Since in previous years we have visited Christmas Tree Farms to pick out our trees, I didn’t know what to expect. Well, a few days later our Fraser Fir arrived at our door in a thin, long box and made our entryway smell incredible! Once we opened it, we were surprised at how fresh and beautiful it was – like we selected it ourselves! I love that we were able to select our ship date and it arrives right on time!

Here are a few tips from Green Valley Christmas Trees for keeping your real tree this month:
- Before you put your tree in its stand, cut 1-2 inches off the base. This will allow your tree to absorb water
- Be sure to keep your tree stand filled with water
- Keep your tree away from heat sources and open flames, including candles and fireplaces
- Turn off tree lights overnight and when you go out
Can’t wait to decorate this week and look forward to sharing how it turns out on instagram!
