oh, i design blog // weekend recap This past weekend I attended The W.E.L.L. Summit Conference, an event for those seeking wellness in various areas of their lives, in Beacon Hill (a neighborhood in Boston). Before the event, I wrote about why I was excited to attend here! The weekend consisted of: new friendships, like-minded souls, hour-long learning sessions with industry leaders, healthy and enriching food, and leaving with a full mind and a goodie bag of healthy products!

Oh, and I brought little Evie with me. Yes, you heard me right…I brought my 5-week (almost 6-week) baby to join in on the weekend fun. 🙂 My husband also had a conference to attend with the leaders in their firm so after getting the ‘okay’ from the hosts of the event, I decided to bring her along. Honestly, if you want to meet a lot of people at a conference – bring a baby. Ha! But seriously, having her with me was the perfect conversation-starter and overall she did really well. So many women came up to me and told me I was so strong and brave for bringing her and that they basically didn’t leave the house before the 6-week mark (which I totally understand). Here’s the deal…I could’ve easily stayed at home and used her as an excuse, but that just doesn’t align with how I plan to live my life with a little one. I don’t want her to stop us from doing everything…sure, I know there are some instances where we will need to say no, but this was a weekend I did not want to miss! (**thank you to all of the kind folks that went out of their way to help out during the event).

oh, i design blog // weekend recap I am very energized from the weekend and want to share ALL of the details right now, however, I want to break it up into different posts to give you the full experience! So for now I will share the instagram photos I took.

oh, i design blog // weekend recap First insta photo:  the W.E.L.L. Summit swag bag I brought home filled with goodies from some fantastic organic/sustainable companies!

Second insta photo:  I learned all about incorporating herbs in our lives in a session taught by the lovely, Steph Zabel of Flowerfolk.

Third insta photo:  I had the pleasure of meeting Devin of The Optimist Co. and learned how to make my own natural cleaner in her session. I went home with their Natural Laundry DetergentRosemary & Mint All-Purpose Cleaner. They both smell AMAZING and the packaging is just too good – her brand makes you instantly happy!

Be sure to check out more about the The W.E.L.L. Summit. Like I mentioned above, I will be posting about my full experience this week. Also, my horoscope is spot on today… check out yours on the free people blog.

AquariusAQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

A new moon at the top of your chart encourages you to create new goals, set a different course in your career and take on a new professional or public role. This is not the time to shy away from the spotlight. The moon is connecting with several other planets, providing more information on this new chapter. You’re encouraged to consider the direction you’re headed in and think through your plans for what’s next. A moon-Jupiter link implies that outside resources, support from individuals you’re close to and trust in partnership will facilitate your achievements. The moon is also harmonizing with Pluto, suggesting that you need to continue to work through an ending, a subconscious behavior pattern or something unpleasant from your past or in your personality. In doing so, you’ll set yourself up for greater success. Mars’s arrival in your expansion sector mobilizes you to travel, fight for something you believe in, seek learning experiences and have an adventure.
